Awarding creative excellence

MarComAwards2014

Prism is proud to announce that we have received four MarCom Awards: Platinum for our work on the BP Calendar and the One Park Place project; Gold for the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation fundraising brochure and the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation Annual Report; and Honorable Mention for our work on the Dream Spaces project.

Prism shares these honors with our writer Elizabeth Fordham at Quill & Ink.

“It’s gratifying to have our work given the thumbs up on a national level,” said Elizabeth. “What’s particularly rewarding is that our work is a true team effort. There are some aspects that are set in stone by the clients, but we also enjoy fluidity and flexibility as the project evolves. That’s where a project’s personality shines through and propels our work into the spotlight.”

The MarCom Awards is a competition honoring creative excellence in marketing and communications. The competition receives about 6,000 entries per year from corporate communications departments, PR firms, and advertising agencies around the globe. Entries are judged based on the quality and creativity of the submitted work. Winners receive either the Platinum Award or the Gold Award.

Gamma Phi-bulous fabric: the pink carnation

March 13, 2012

We’re working on pattern designs for Gamma Phi Beta sorority members so they can celebrate their official flower – the pink carnation – in a new (fabric) way!

We plan to tweak and/or complete more patterns than pictured here. We think the fabrics could be used to make gift totes, tablecloths, to cover big Greek letters for recruitment, or whatever members can dream up.

Our goal is to have several ready this summer (June 2012). Hopefully we’ll have some actual gift items made up, and for sure the actual fabric for sale. We’re pretty thrilled about this. We’d love to hear what you think. Ideas anyone? Which one’s your favorite? Leave us a comment.

This new Pink Carnation line of fabrics is inspired by the four founders of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority: Helen, Frances, Adeline, and Mary. You can read about them here. We’ll talk more about what this means as we complete our designs.

A STEP in the PINK direction.

Electricity provider, Champion Energy Services, supported Susan G. Komen in Race for the Cure. We designed a fun ‘shoe print’ logo featuring the pink ribbon for race shirts and signage.

To expand on the design we used a service at Keds to create-your-own custom pair of sneakers. How cool is that? Easy enough for an amateur, we designed these funky Keds as a gift for Elizabeth Fordham, Champion’s then marketing guru. A little thank you for embracing our creative talent and partnering with us in the ‘zero to hero’ year that has become Champion Energy Services in 2010.

Now these probably aren’t the most comfy sneakers to run the race in, but they sure are unique.

Every girl wants a new do!

February 14, 2011

Today is the day! Time for a new hairdo. Something fresh, contemporary, inspirational, reflective of the times, yet respectful of tradition. So, when Gamma Phi Beta decided to update their Foundation brand, the appointment was made. All it took was a collaboration of shampoo, conditioner, a clip here and a clip there, a touch of color and a final blow-dry. Oh! how a new hairdo makes you feel. A renewed spirit and soul. In this case less is more, as there was no need for an overhaul, but to simply refresh what was fundamentally good.
