Thanks Ya’ll. Bayou City Art Festival.

October 16, 2009

Our first ever floating sculpture, floated this past weekend, in the Art on Water, Bayou Art Festival… well sort-of.  Although we experienced a few hiccups concerning the weather; all-and-all it was fun.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support us and congratulations to this year’s winners! See some of the amazing sculptures in our collage below.BeanTooHotLaunchpeople

If you send us a photo of you with our “It’s Bean Too Hot” floating sculpture visible in the background (or side-ground) we’ll send you a Prism Design “Use Your Bean” gift. You can email your photo to think@prismdesigninc.com. Our studio manager will be receiving the images so keep it pure.

See you this weekend.

If it Floats… Bayou City Art Festival.

“Art on Water.” An interesting challenge for graphic designers who grew up loving art supplies made of paper.

Sarah House, Art on Water Coordinator, asked us to schedule our launch for Thursday, October 8, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with the hope that press will be onsite around 2:30 p.m.

We hope to see some of you at the reflection pond in front of Houston City Hall on Thursday or during the weekend festival.

Meanwhile, you can see what supplies we’re using to brew:

Supply sources: Kelli Parman at C2media, Micheals, Joann Fabric’s and Home Depot.

We’re In! Bayou City Art Festival.

We just received a letter from Sarah House, Art on Water Coordinator. Read a few excerpts:

Congratulations Prism Design Team!

The Art Colony Association Selection Committee chose your application for inclusion in the Art on Water portion of the Bayou City Art Festival. Your work will be on display in the Reflection Pond at City Hall on October 10 and 11, 2009.

…Installation of all pieces is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, and we are currently working on getting press coverage of the artists launching their sculptures.

Yikes, we need to figure out how to build this. The rules are pretty simple, but we’re not trained sculptors. Got any thoughts? More beans the better.
